FESTIVAL DATES AND LOCATIONS FOR 2025-2026
LISFA SUFFOLK INTERMEDIATE FESTIVAL CHANGES:
Dear String Teachers and Directors,
Out of an abundance of caution for the impending weather, and in an effort to provide our talented musicians with the best possible experience, LISFA has decided to move our Sunday Concert featuring our 5th, 7th & 8th Grade ensembles to Saturday afternoon. Please read the following information carefully so that you understand the new schedule and expectations.
6th Grade Ensemble: The 6th Grade ensemble will continue as originally scheduled. 6th Graders will be staying through on Saturday and rehearsing until 1:30pm with their concert commencing at 2:00pm. Students must arrive to their Saturday rehearsal in concert dress-all black as specified in the student letters (located in the document section of our LISFAReg website). 6th Grade students can purchase as many tickets as they need at the Friday rehearsal-all additional tickets will be sold at the door. As specified in the student letters (located in the document section of our LISFAReg website) tickets are $15.
5th Grade Ensemble/7th & 8th Grade Ensemble Our remaining ensembles will have a PROMPT dismissal at 1:00pm and will need to return to Northport HS for a call time of 4:00pm. Teachers of 5th Grade musicians will need to have a conversation prior to the Friday rehearsal regarding whether or not they plan to audition. We would like to move quickly through the auditions to give the students as much time as possible to rehearse so please have this planned in advance. 5th, 7th & 8th Grade students can purchase 3 tickets at the Friday rehearsal with all additional tickets being sold during the Saturday rehearsal and additionally at the door prior to the concert. As specified in the student letters (located in the document section of our LISFAReg website) tickets are $15.
Teachers and Directors: Please ensure that all buses are scheduled for a quick and efficient departure at 1:00pm. If any students are being collected by parents whether at Northport HS, or at your home district, make sure they know when to pick up their musicians and that they understand the quick turnaround time needed for the 4:30pm concert. LISFA would like to extend our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Izzet Mergen, Mike Susinno and the Northport School District for being incredibly flexible and helpful in creating a feasible plan for this weekend.
